Supreme Court permits LMV licence holders eligible to drive transport vehicles upto 7,500 kg

In this judgement, Justice Hrishikesh Roy stated that no empirical data indicates that holders of LMV driving licenses are responsible for the increase in road accidents in the country.

SC upholds constitutional validity of UP Madarsa Act, bars Board from awarding ‘Fazil and Kamil’ degrees

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud set aside the March 22 ruling of the Allahabad High Court which held the Act was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court said that the awarding of higher degrees —Fazil and Kamil was unlawful since it is in conflict with the provisions of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
