The unrest erupted on March 17 after rumors spread that a "chadar" with holy inscriptions was burned during Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP)-led protests demanding the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
