The strike is observed to condemn the Hamas attacks on Oct 7, last year amid widespread public anger at the government’s handling of the war in Gaza after the discovery of the bodies of six hostages at the weekend, media reports said.
Hezbollah and Israeli security forces have exchanged attacks across the Lebanon-Israel border in a marked escalation in the region since October 7. According to Israel’s Army Radio, Hezbollah was going to launch hundreds of missiles towards central Israel at 5 am, so it attacked half an hour beforehand with 100 Israeli jets.

According to the terrorist group’s Amaq news site, the 26-year-old Syrian man who randomly started attacking people at the local festival was a “soldier of the Islamic State”. It further said that the attack was carried out as a revenge for “Muslims in Palestine and everywhere.”
The attack occurred at a festival in Solengen to honour the town's 650th anniversary, police said. The town is located in North Rhine-Westphalia state, Germany's most populous city bordering the Netherlands.
