Kejriwal was finally given insulin on Monday night amidst the ongoing tussle between AAP chief and Tihar jail where the former has accused the jail authorities of not providing him with insulin despite repeated requests.
According to Election Commission of India, more than 16.63 crore voters, which include over approximately 8.4 crore male voters, 8.23 crore female voters, and 11,371 third-gender electors were eligible to cast their vote at nearly 2 lakh polling stations.
Kejriwal’s lawyer filed a petition in the Rouse Avenue Court seeking directions to Tihar Jail authority to provide him with insulin.
Currently lodged in Tihar jail, Kejriwal suffers from acute diabetes and has thus moved the Rouse Avenue Court asking authorities to provide insulin in jail.
Voting commenced at 7 am across 24,370 polling stations and will continue until 6 pm.
As of 9 am on Friday, approximately 12.6% of the over 15.44 lakh voters have cast their votes for the two Lok Sabha seats in Manipur, a region affected by ethnic violence.
