Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced at a press conference that the counting of votes will be held on Nov 23, a day before the current Maharashtra assembly completes its term. The bypolls to 47 assembly seats and Wayanad Lok Sabha seats will be held on Nov 13.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said there were “serious issues” with the counting process and the functioning of the EVMs in at least 14 constituencies and that the party would take up the matter with the Election Commission.

At least two hundred people were reportedly injured in the incident caused due to overcrowding, heat stroke and lack of basic arrangements at the venue.

The findings of surveys conducted by C-Voter, Peoples Pulse, P-Marq, and Dainik Bhaskar show Congress winning the elections beyond the majority mark of 46 in the 90-seat Assembly.

Kejriwal declared that he would only run for chief minister again in Feb 2025 provided he received a "certificate of honesty" from the electorate in the Delhi assembly elections.

Prashant Kishor said, "three things—education, land and capital—are the key factors to remove poverty but sadly all these are missing here."

A case was registered on Sep 28 against Sitharaman and others on the directions of a court in Bengaluru, following a complaint relating to the now-scrapped electoral bonds scheme.
