At least 42 Palestinians were killed and over 150 injured in Israeli air and artillery bombardment on Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip on Nov 2, health officials said.

The Israeli army has been bombarding inhabited houses in Nuseirat with both aircraft and artillery since Nov 1 morning, they said.

The Gaza government media office condemned the strikes, describing them as the "deliberate targeting of civilians, including children and women," and called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to halt attacks against Gaza's civilians.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a statement on Nov 2 said that it conducted operations in Rafah and central Gaza to kill militants, dismantle their infrastructure, and locate weapons.

Meanwhile, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) on Nov 3 in a statement condemned Israel’s “indiscriminate strikes on the Gaza Strip”, noting that over 50 children have been killed in Israeli attacks on Jabalia in northern Gaza in the past 48 hours alone.

Israeli forces dropped a stun grenade on a polio vaccination center in Gaza City, wounding at least four children, despite agreeing to a humanitarian pause for a long-delayed inoculation campaign, according to the WHO.

Israel has been conducting a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a Hamas attack across the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, in which at least 1,200 people were killed and nearly 250 taken hostage.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 43,314, according to a statement from Gaza-based health authorities on Nov 2.
