The private German university offers more than 100 English-taught degree programmes, while its Indian student community exceeds 2,000, according to the institution.

Germany-based SRH University has begun its winter semester for 2026–27, welcoming students from India and other countries to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across business, engineering, computing, artificial intelligence, health, psychology, design and architecture.
The university’s latest intake comes amid sustained growth in the number of Indian students choosing Germany for higher education.

SRH offers more than 100 state-accredited, English-taught degree programmes for international students and says its Indian student community now exceeds 2,000 across its programmes.
According to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), 59,419 Indian students were enrolled at German higher education institutions in the 2024–25 academic year, compared with 28,905 in 2020. The figures indicate that the number of Indian students in Germany more than doubled over the period.
Programmes combine academic study with practical learning
SRH’s course portfolio covers business and law, engineering, computer and data science, applied artificial intelligence, business psychology, health, design and architecture.
The university says its teaching model combines academic instruction with practical assignments, intensive learning periods and continuous assessment.
Its approach is based on the CORE Principle, which emphasises competence-oriented learning and applying knowledge to practical situations. The institution also highlights small-group teaching and engagement with industry as part of its teaching model.
The university’s programme options span undergraduate and postgraduate study. International applicants who meet the relevant entry requirements can apply directly to bachelor’s programmes, while foundation options are available for students who need additional preparation before beginning a degree.
Engineering, computer science, information technology, data science, business administration, MBA programmes and supply chain management are among the fields SRH identifies as popular choices for Indian students.
Ajith Mohan, director for India at SRH University, said the institution combines classroom learning with practical experience to help students apply academic knowledge in professional settings.
University focuses recruitment on core campuses
SRH has identified Berlin and Heidelberg as its flagship campuses, with the broadest portfolios of English-taught programmes and priority for investment in facilities and student services. Dresden, Gera and Leipzig are also part of its core campus network, offering selected English-taught programmes.
The university says this approach is intended to strengthen programme choices, student support, housing assistance and career guidance across its principal locations.
Leipzig is expected to develop as an additional core campus with a focus on biotechnology from 2028, according to Oana Lelcu, global strategy director at SRH University.
She said the institution aims to combine academic knowledge with practical competence, international perspectives, artificial intelligence and engagement with industry.
SRH says its wider student community comprises nearly 10,000 students from more than 140 countries, giving international students the opportunity to study alongside peers from different national and academic backgrounds.
SRH University is a private, state-recognised university of applied sciences headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany. Established in its current form in October 2024 through the merger of five higher education institutions, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across fields including business, engineering, computer science, health, psychology and design.
The university follows a competence-oriented teaching approach that emphasises practical learning and applying academic knowledge to real-world situations.
