Delhi Metro announces revised train timings for Diwali 2026.

DMRC will operate the last Metro trains at 10 PM on Diwali, while Pink, Magenta and Grey Line services will begin at 6 AM.

Commuters planning to travel by Delhi Metro on Diwali will have to follow a revised train schedule on November 8, 2026. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced changes to operating hours, bringing forward the last train departure across all Metro lines and starting services earlier on three corridors. According to the announcement, the last Metro train on Diwali will depart from the terminal stations of all lines, including the Airport Express Line, at 10 PM instead of the usual 11 PM.

Meanwhile, services on the Pink, Magenta and Grey Lines will begin at 6 AM instead of their regular Sunday starting time of 7 AM. The changes are intended to help passengers plan their journeys around the festival.

Delhi Metro Diwali Timings 2026: What Has Changed?

The revised schedule includes an earlier start on three Metro lines and an earlier final departure across the network.

Here are the key changes:

  • Last Metro train: 10 PM from terminal stations across all lines.
  • Pink Line: First train at 6 AM.
  • Magenta Line: First train at 6 AM.
  • Grey Line: First train at 6 AM.
  • Airport Express Line: Last train departure at 10 PM.

The earlier starting time applies to the three identified corridors because their regular Sunday services normally begin at 7 AM. Other Metro lines will follow their usual Sunday morning schedules.

Which Delhi Metro Lines Will Start at 6 AM?

DMRC has advanced the morning schedule on three corridors to provide passengers with an additional hour of travel time.

  • Pink Line: The Pink Line connects Majlis Park with Shiv Vihar. Its services will begin at 6 AM from the respective terminal stations.
  • Magenta Line: Services on the Botanical Garden–Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park–Deepali Chowk sections will start at 6 AM.
  • Grey Line: The Grey Line, which connects Dwarka with Dhansa Bus Stand, will also begin operations at 6 AM.

Passengers using these corridors should plan their journeys according to the revised departure time.

Last Delhi Metro Train on Diwali to Depart at 10 PM

One of the most important changes concerns the closing schedule. DMRC has decided that the last train will leave the terminal stations at 10 PM on November 8. The revised departure time applies to all Metro lines, including the Airport Express Line. Under the usual schedule, the last train generally departs from terminal stations at around 11 PM.

Passengers should remember that 10 PM is the departure time from terminal stations. The final train may reach individual stations later, depending on the route and direction of travel. Commuters are advised to check the last-train timings for their particular journey instead of assuming that services will stop at every station at exactly 10 PM.

Apart from the Diwali schedule, DMRC has also increased train services in response to worsening air pollution in the national capital. Following the implementation of Stage I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), the Metro corporation began operating 20 additional train trips from Monday to Friday. The additional services are intended to encourage people to use public transport instead of private vehicles, potentially helping reduce traffic-related emissions. These additional weekday trips are separate from the temporary Diwali timetable announced for November 8.

What Should Delhi Metro Passengers Keep in Mind?

Passengers traveling on Diwali should check their route and train timings before leaving home. Those using the Pink, Magenta and Grey Lines can access the earlier 6 AM services, while commuters on other lines should follow their regular Sunday morning schedules. The last train across all lines will leave terminal stations at 10 PM. Passengers planning late-evening journeys should allow enough time to reach their nearest station and board before the final departure. The revised schedule is a temporary arrangement for Diwali and does not indicate a permanent change in Delhi Metro operating hours.
