A MoU signed between Woxsen University, Hyderabad and Indobox Inc., Na Ra Japan Hub to strengthen academic and industrial ties between India and Japan. The MoU focuses on several key initiatives, starting with the establishment of a Japanese Language Teaching Centre at Woxsen University, Hyderabad.

In a step towards strengthening educational and industry ties between India and Japan, Woxsen University has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indobox Inc. and Na Ra Japan Hub. This strategic partnership aims to foster industry collaborations between Japanese firms and educational institutions, creating opportunities for career growth, joint research, projects, and partnerships, benefitting both institutions and trades in India and Japan. It further aims to provide a platform for exciting opportunities for students to engage in cross-cultural learning and career development.
The MoU focuses on several key initiatives, beginning with the establishment of a Japanese language learning centre at Woxsen University. This centre will offer focused language courses, including conversational Japanese and preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT N5/N4), helping students enhance their language skills and cultural understanding.

A key objective of this MoU is also to facilitate student exchanges, internships, employment opportunities, and cross-cultural learning experiences in Japan, allowing Woxsen students to gain international experience or work in companies based in Japan. The focus on Japanese management practices will further enhance their skills, preparing them for success in their future careers.
Dr. Raul V. Rodriguez, Vice President at Woxsen University, said, “This strategic partnership will significantly enhance cultural exchange, academic collaborations, and technological advancements between India and Japan. By combining Woxsen's commitment to global education with the expertise of Indobox Inc. and Na Ra Japan Hub, we aim to create a vibrant hub for Japanese culture, language, and business practices in India. This collaboration will elevate Woxsen University's global reputation, attract international students, and provide faculty with opportunities for international research and development. We are confident that this partnership will open new doors for our students, faculty, and the broader community, strengthening the bond between India and Japan.”
Additionally, the collaboration will focus on teaching Japanese work ethics and work culture, as well as productivity techniques used in Japanese businesses. It will help students understand and adopt key aspects of Japan's successful business practices. This knowledge of work culture and language skills will play a crucial role in preparing them for career opportunities with Japanese companies. The partnership will also include the organization of annual Japanese cultural events at Woxsen University, allowing students to experience Japanese culture firsthand.
As per reports, there are currently 1,400 Japanese companies operating in India, with both countries aiming to increase this number along with an investment target of ¥5 trillion (USD 42 billion) by 2027.
The signing of the MoU will further strengthen Indo-Japanese ties, mutually benefiting students by enabling them to gain from the growth happening in both countries.
Notably, IndoBox offers a range of services that foster collaboration and growth between Japan and India in sectors such as HR and Education, high-value-added businesses, and Research. Meanwhile, Na Ra Japan Hub is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving local Japanese and Indian residents through initiatives in cultural diplomacy and international relations. The agreement replicates Woxsen University’s commitment to mounting global educational partnerships and providing students with exceptional learning opportunities.
