More than 1.27 million candidates across 11 education boards await their results, which will be formally announced at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.

Bangladesh’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results will be published on October 31, two days later than originally scheduled, after authorities changed the venue for the official announcement.
The results were initially set to be released on October 29. Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the revised date on Tuesday.

Dhaka Tribune quoted Akhtaruzzaman as saying that the venue had been changed after journalists raised concerns about inadequate space at the Secretariat during last year’s result announcement.
He said the education minister had considered the complaints and approved the change. The results will now be formally announced at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka on Saturday.
The committee had earlier proposed publishing the results between October 25 and 29, with October 29 subsequently selected as the initial date.
Over 1.27 million candidates appeared
A total of 12,70,583 candidates appeared for the HSC, Alim, HSC (BM-BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma-in-Commerce examinations under 11 education boards.
The examinations were conducted at 2,697 centres involving 9,439 educational institutions across Bangladesh. The nine general education boards used common question papers this year.
The examinations began on July 2 and were scheduled to conclude on August 8. However, flooding delayed the completion of examinations under several boards, including the Chittagong Education Board. Practical examinations were completed by August 15.
With the announcement now set for October 31, candidates across the country will have to wait two additional days to learn their results.
