Nine individuals were allegedly found appearing for other candidates at examination centers in Lakhisarai, while investigators probe the involvement of 21 others in the case.

Thirty people have been arrested in Bihar's Lakhisarai district following allegations of impersonation and cheating during the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, prompting a wider investigation into a suspected examination fraud network.
According to sources, authorities carried out action at multiple examination centers in the district after irregularities were detected during checks. Of the 30 people arrested, nine were allegedly appearing for the examination in place of registered candidates.

Officials said one impersonator was caught at the KRK High School examination center, seven at Kendriya Vidyalaya, and one at the Hasanpur School examination center. The accused are reportedly from different districts.
In addition to the nine alleged impersonators, 21 other individuals were taken into custody for their suspected involvement in the examination fraud. Investigators are examining their possible links to the operation.
The accused are being questioned under the supervision of SDM Prabhakar Kumar and SDPO Shivam Kumar. Based on leads obtained during interrogation, a special police team has launched raids at locations believed to be connected to the case.
District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumar are overseeing the investigation. Officials believe additional individuals may be involved and said further action could follow as the probe progresses.
SDPO Shivam Kumar said that 30 people were arrested during the NEET re-examination. Out of them, nine were allegedly taking the exam on behalf of other candidates, while 21 others were found connected to the fraud.
Authorities have not released further details, citing the ongoing investigation. Officials said the full extent of the network is expected to emerge after the probe is completed.
