The interim government's key advisor has recently remarked that Sheikh Hasina's extended stay in India will not hurt bilateral relations and Dhaka will always try to maintain good relations with New Delhi.
The case is the first to be filed against Hasina after she resigned and fled to India following widespread protests against her government over a controversial job quota system. The case was filed by a well-wisher of the grocery store owner Abu Sayed, who was killed on July 19 in police firing during a procession in support of the quota reform movement in Mohammadpur.
The incident comes two weeks after the fatal stabbing of three young girls in Southport, north-west England, at a children’s holiday dance workshop. The 17-year-old male suspect in the case remains in custody until his next court appearance at the end of October.
Over 100 Hindus & other minorities have been reportedly killed across the country since fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. There have been at least 205 incidents of attacks in 52 districts against the minorities since August 5.
