The four-day IEEE Computer Society congress in Kattankulathur features expert keynotes, hands-on workshops on agentic AI and networking opportunities for more than 300 delegates.

The All India Computer Society Student & Young Professional Congress (AICSSYC) 2026 commenced at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, bringing together students, researchers, academics and technology professionals from across the country.
Organised by the IEEE Computer Society student chapter at SRMIST, the four-day event is scheduled from October 8 to 11. It is expected to bring together over 300 delegates representing more than 20 IEEE Sections across India. The congress aims to encourage technical learning, professional networking and collaboration in emerging areas of computing.

The theme for this year's congress, “Where Agents Meet Humans,” highlights the growing role of autonomous artificial intelligence and its interaction with human decision-making, creativity and problem-solving.
The programme includes practical workshops on agentic artificial intelligence (AI), expert keynote presentations and opportunities for participants to exchange ideas about new technologies and intelligent systems.
The inaugural ceremony featured senior representatives of the IEEE Computer Society. The chief guests were Professor Hironori Washizaki of Waseda University, Japan, who served as IEEE Computer Society president in 2025, and Dr Andrew Seely, vice president for Membership and Geographic Activities at the IEEE Computer Society.
The guests of honour included Rebekah Stacha, executive director of the IEEE Computer Society; Eric Berkowitz, director of membership at the organisation; and Shivam Shivam, director of the Tech Innovation Lab at ZS Associates.
Their participation highlighted the congress's emphasis on connecting emerging computing talent with experienced professionals and international technology leaders.
The university delegation welcoming the guests included Dr S. Ponnusamy, registrar of SRMIST; Dr Leenus Jesu Martin M, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dr Revathi Venkataraman, chairperson of the School of Computing; Dr M. Pushpalatha, associate chairperson of the School of Computing; and Dr G. Niranjana, professor and head of the Department of Computing Technologies.
Dr S. Godfrey Winster, associate professor in the Department of Computing Technologies at the School of Computing, SRMIST, is convening the programme.
AICSSYC serves as a flagship national congress for the IEEE Computer Society's Students and Young Professionals (SYP) community. Its 2026 edition is designed to help participants understand developments in AI and computing while building connections with peers, researchers, academics and industry professionals.
Through technical sessions, interactive workshops and networking activities, the congress offers a platform for sharing knowledge and exploring the practical implications of intelligent technologies.
The event also seeks to strengthen engagement between India's emerging technology professionals and the wider computing community, as AI-driven systems become increasingly important across research, industry and everyday applications.
