The agreement will support specialised training, research scholarships, innovation labs and opportunities for young people to develop skills in AI, data analytics and entrepreneurship.

The University of Sharjah (UoS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators to expand educational opportunities and develop leadership, creativity and innovation skills among young people.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation between the two organisations, covering specialised training, joint research, innovation initiatives and community programmes. It also aims to provide members and graduates of Rubu’ Qarn with educational and academic opportunities while involving university students in the foundation’s volunteer and community activities.

The memorandum was signed at the University of Sharjah by Professor Esameldin Agamy, the university’s chancellor, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, director-general of Rubu’ Qarn.
Partnership to focus on leadership and future skills
The two organisations plan to develop specialised training programmes in leadership, project management and future skills. They will also explore programmes in artificial intelligence, data analytics and emerging technologies.
The agreement includes joint scientific and applied research on leadership, innovation and talent development, along with research scholarships and joint awards. The organisations will also work towards establishing business incubators, accelerators and innovation laboratories to support young people’s ideas and projects.
Support for youth entrepreneurship and community initiatives
The partnership will extend to social entrepreneurship and youth-led projects, with an emphasis on developing young people’s capacity to turn ideas into initiatives with practical applications.
University students will be encouraged to participate in Rubu’ Qarn’s programmes, including volunteer and community activities. The organisations expect this involvement to strengthen students’ initiative and sense of social responsibility while connecting academic learning with community engagement.
The agreement also provides for the development of joint digital platforms to manage programmes and measure their impact. Other areas of cooperation include exchanging faculty members, experts and trainers, producing media and creative content for young people, and organising relevant conferences and forums.
University highlights its role in society
Agamy said the university’s role extends beyond its campus to contribute to society and support its development. He added that the institution currently offers 159 academic programmes that contribute to preparing students for leadership and innovation.
Sheikha Jawaher said the agreement reflects the importance of community partnerships and expressed hope that it would lead to wider cooperation between the two organisations.
The partnership brings together the university’s academic programmes and Rubu’ Qarn’s work in developing young people and emerging leaders. Its planned activities span education, research, technology, entrepreneurship and community participation.
