The government is offering 60 scholarships for one-year master’s or doctoral programs, evaluating academic excellence, extracurricular achievements, and personal statements to support global students’ higher education aspirations.

The Government of Ireland has announced the launch of the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) program, offering 10,000 euros (₹10,86,450) to support international students.
Applications open on Jan 29, 2026, for 60 scholarships, which will fund eligible candidates pursuing a one-year master's or doctoral program in Ireland. The application window closes on March 12, 2026, with results expected by early June.

Eligibility for the 2026 Ireland Scholarship requires applicants to be residents outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Candidates must hold an offer of admission for a one-year master’s or doctoral program at an Irish higher education institution, and students should confirm their course’s eligibility with the institution.
The selection process will consider academic excellence, communication skills, participation in extracurricular activities such as humanitarian work, arts, sports, or politics, and a clear statement of purpose detailing how studying in Ireland supports long-term goals and the relevance of the GOI-IES scholarship.
Applications will be reviewed by the higher education institutions where candidates have applied.
Eligible students can submit applications through the official GOI-IES portal, and early submission is encouraged to avoid technical issues close to the deadline.
