Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi launches a diverse set of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in 2024, spanning engineering, business, humanities, and healthcare, to address the evolving academic demands and prepare students for future challenges.
Covering a wide range of disciplines, including Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), and more, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has introduced several new courses throughout 2024.
MSc in Biological Sciences, launched in February 2024 by the Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, provides admissions through the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). This two-year master's program admits 20 students.
MA in Culture, Society, and Thought was launched in March 2024 by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
It focuses on the themes of culture, society, and thought through core disciplines like sociology, literature, and philosophy. Admission is based on Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 scores.
The Executive MBA program by IIT Delhi's Department of Management Studies was launched in April 2024 for working professionals.
Designed for mid-career executives with over three years of experience, the program helps enhance knowledge, expand professional networks, and accelerate career growth without taking a break from work.
The Department of Design launched the BTech in Design in August 2024. This four-year undergraduate program is admitted through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced rankings.
The program focuses on systematic design thinking, research methods for analyzing socio-technical systems, communication and presentation skills, and teamwork.
The Healthcare Technology for Medical and Allied Clinical Professionals program was introduced in October 2024 by the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME).
The program, starting in January 2025, is tailored for medical and allied clinical professionals.
It integrates medical principles with engineering disciplines to foster innovations in healthcare technologies.
The PhD in Energy and Sustainability was launched recently in December 2024. This program at IIT Delhi’s new international campus in Abu Dhabi focuses on solving critical energy and sustainability challenges, including renewable energy, decarbonization, microgrids, and AI applications for energy transition.
IIT Delhi, in collaboration with the University of Queensland, Australia, launched a joint PhD program through the UQ-IIT Delhi Research Academy (UQIDAR).
Students will spend time at both institutions, earning a jointly awarded PhD upon successful completion.
