Declared during the Indian Prime Minister's trip to Washington, it intends to improve collaboration in areas such as advanced materials, pharmaceuticals, and critical minerals.

The TRUST initiative's importance

• Promote both public and private investments to increase manufacturing capacity and generate employment in the United States and India.
• Reduce obstacles to technology transfer, deal with export regulations, and improve high-tech trade to increase exports.
• creates reliable and robust supply chains for active pharmaceutical ingredients, semiconductors, essential minerals, etc.
• recovery and processing of vital minerals, such as rare earth elements and lithium, in order to counter China's hegemony and diversify supply chains.
• encourages innovation by igniting cooperation between the public and private sectors in areas of critical and emerging technologies, such as defense, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, etc.
• promotes the acquisition of vital mineral assets by public and private sector enterprises overseas by fortifying the government's National Critical Mineral Mission.

Due to geopolitical factors and limited global production, these components—which are building blocks of essential modern technologies—are susceptible to supply chain disruptions.
