Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Live Updates: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari collapsed during an election rally in Yavatmal, Maharashtra. The incident occurred when the city was experiencing a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. After regaining consciousness, Gadkari proceeded to Warud. Later, in a social media post, Gadkari stated, “I felt unwell due to the heat during the rally in Pusad, Maharashtra. However, I am now completely fine and am heading to Varud for the next meeting. I appreciate your love and well wishes.”
In other developments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress at a rally in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. He accused the party of betraying Babasaheb Ambedkar by promising to provide reservations based on religion. He pointed out that our Constitution prohibits reservation on the basis of religion, yet the Congress included it in their election manifesto. He further emphasized the need for a “stable and strong government” for progress.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claimed that PM Modi has “panicked after seeing our revolutionary manifesto”. He stated that the Congress manifesto aims to return 90% of Indians a portion of the Rs 16 lakh crore given to major businessmen as a loan waiver.
