Odisha signs MoUs with 14 partners to strengthen skill development and technical education

The Odisha government has entered into partnerships with 14 organizations and institutions to expand skill development, strengthen technical education and prepare young people for emerging workforce demands, officials said on Oct 7.

The memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed in the presence of Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.

The partnerships are aimed at connecting training and technical education more closely with industry requirements and strengthening Odisha’s position in skill development.

The partners include 1M1B Foundation, Calderys, CIEL HR Services Ltd, Cloos India, Delphi-TVS Technologies Ltd, F5 India, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Hettich Poddar Wood Working Institute, iFOREST, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Pvt Ltd, Semantics, Siksha O Anusandhan University, THK India and Utkal University.

According to officials, the collaborations will cover several high-growth areas, including emerging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, robotics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, green jobs and automotive technology.

The agreements are also expected to strengthen industry-aligned skilling initiatives, technical education, Centers of Excellence and innovation. They will create additional opportunities for employment and career development for young people in the state, officials said.

Addressing the gathering, Swain said the agreements represent important investments in Odisha’s human capital. He said the partnerships would help develop the skilled workforce needed to support the state’s growing industrial ecosystem.

The minister also highlighted the opportunities the collaborations would create for young people, particularly through access to quality training, employment and career growth.

The government said the partnerships will support a more industry-responsive approach to skill development and technical education while helping Odisha prepare its workforce for changing technology and employment requirements.
