Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely projected to submit his nomination for the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat on May 13, with polling set to take place on June 1. The Prime Minister is also expected to conduct a roadshow on the same day.
The nomination process for the seventh phase commences on May 7, and polling is slated for June 1. BJP sources indicated on Thursday that since May 14 is the final day for nominations and May 11 and 12 falls on a weekend, it is anticipated that the Prime Minister will file his nomination on Monday, May 13.
Party leaders have expressed that the residents of Kashi will play a pivotal role in making PM Modi’s nomination event a grand ceremony. The party is making arrangements to ensure their widespread participation.
Earlier this week, BJP’s National General Secretary Sunil Bansal held a meeting at the election office located in Tulsi Udyan, Mahmoorganj, where he outlined the plan for the PM’s election and nomination process. Bansal directed the leaders to make the Prime Minister’s nomination a historic and unprecedented event, with a significant turnout of Kashi residents at the nomination ceremony and visible crowds on the streets.
According to party sources, the PM’s nomination will occur at an auspicious time.
Ajay Rai, the state president of Congress and the Lok Sabha candidate from the INDIA Alliance, will file his nomination in Varanasi on May 10, a day that coincides with Akshaya Tritiya and Parashuram Jayanti.
