The initiative aims to reduce financial barriers for overseas students and attract talented learners to undergraduate physics programs at the Scottish university.

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow has introduced a new scholarship program for international students enrolling in undergraduate physics courses for the 2026-27 academic year, offering financial support of £7,000 per year throughout the duration of their studies.
The award, offered through the university's Department of Physics, is available to eligible international students joining full-time undergraduate physics programs in either Year 1 or Year 2 beginning in September 2026.

Students will not be required to submit a separate scholarship application. The university said the award will be granted automatically to those who meet the eligibility requirements.
Under the scheme, recipients will continue to receive the £7,000 scholarship each academic year provided they satisfy the university's progression requirements and remain enrolled in the program.
The scholarship is intended for new international fee-paying students who are enrolling in a full-time undergraduate physics degree at Strathclyde. Candidates must be self-funded to qualify.
Students receiving full financial support from a government agency, embassy, or any other external sponsoring organization will not be eligible for the award.
The university said the scholarship is limited to students entering the program in Year 1 or Year 2 and cannot be deferred to a later intake. It also cannot be transferred to another student.
Recipients who move out of the Department of Physics during their studies will lose eligibility for the scholarship. In addition, students may hold only one University of Strathclyde scholarship in a given academic year.
The funding will be applied directly toward tuition fees each year, reducing the overall cost of study for international students.
Eligible applicants must complete their enrollment for the 2026-27 academic session by July 31, 2026, to be considered for the award.
The university stated that all scholarship decisions will be made by the Faculty of Science, which will have final authority over the selection process. Appeals against scholarship decisions will not be accepted.
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, the University of Strathclyde is recognized for its science, technology, and engineering programs and is consistently ranked among the leading universities in the United Kingdom in these fields.
