The 68th Kerala State School Sports Meet will run until October 31, bringing together young athletes from across the state for a week of sporting competitions.

The 68th Kerala State School Sports Meet is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026, at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut campus in Kozhikode. The event will continue until October 31, with competitions taking place at multiple venues across the district.
Kerala Education Minister N. Samsudheen announced the schedule after a review meeting of the organising committee. Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan is scheduled to inaugurate the event.

The meet will be the first major sporting competition at NIT Kozhikode's newly renovated synthetic track and ground, which have been upgraded to international standards, according to the announcement.
The celebrations will begin with two important journeys ahead of the opening ceremony. The trophy procession will travel from Thiruvananthapuram, while the torch relay will start from Kasaragod.
Both processions are scheduled to converge at Kozhikode Beach on the morning of October 25. They will then move through the city before reaching the main venue at NIT Kozhikode.
A march past featuring participating student athletes will form part of the opening ceremony.
Kozhikode has made arrangements across 10 venues to host the various competitions. NIT Kozhikode will serve as the principal venue for athletics events.
The programme is expected to involve around 15,000 people, including athletes, team managers, officials and organisers. A march past involving approximately 4,000 athletes is planned for the opening day, along with cultural performances by students.
The organisers have established 17 subcommittees to coordinate venue readiness, transport, security, sanitation, accommodation and other arrangements.
Organisers have been asked to monitor venue safety and infrastructure, particularly because changing weather conditions, including rain and strong winds, could affect the event.
The organising committee has also emphasised compliance with food safety standards during meal distribution and the need to keep competitions running according to schedule.
These arrangements are intended to ensure that athletes and officials can participate safely throughout the week-long event.
The sports meet is scheduled to conclude on October 31, 2026. Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala is expected to attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest, according to the announcement reported by PTI.
The event will bring together school-level sporting talent from across Kerala and provide a platform for young athletes to compete in different disciplines.
Students, schools and participating teams should follow official announcements from the state education authorities and the organising committee for any updates to the competition schedule or venue arrangements.
