This year, university representatives will be visiting India from May 17 to 26 and will offer on-the-spot admission to qualified undergraduate students who wish to apply and receive a decision immediately.

The University of Guelph, based in Ontario, Canada, is offering a Welcome to Canada President’s Scholarship worth USD 2,000 for all international undergraduate students.

They will be offering on-the-spot admission to qualified undergraduate students who wish to apply and receive a decision immediately. Moreover, they will connect with students who currently hold admission offer for Fall 2024 and guide them through the next steps.

The university expects that international students will avail this opportunity in addition to the University’s International Entrance Scholarships valued between USD 5,500 and USD 9,500.
According to Dr. Charlotte Yates, Vice-chancellor, Indian students have been showing interest in five major courses namely, Bachelor of Computing: Computer Science, Software Engineering; BA Psychology, Economics; Bachelor of Engineering: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; Bachelor of Commerce: Accounting, Marketing Management, Management, Management, Economics and Finance; and Bachelor of Science: Bio-Medical Science, Animal Biology.
The university has hosted Indian personalities this past year, including Sanjay Kumar, High Commissioner of India to Canada, and Soumya Swaminathan, former chief scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO).
“We believe a diverse and global community enriches the distinct student experience we are known for. This new USD 2,000 scholarship will be awarded in addition to the University’s International Entrance Scholarships valued between USD 5,500 and USD 9,500 that are awarded to international students entering post-secondary studies for the first time in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement,” the Vice-chancellor said in the press release.
In addition to the Welcome to Canada President’s Scholarship, the university also guarantees residence for all years of study for international undergraduate and master’s students. The international PhD candidates will be receiving guaranteed housing for their first year of study.
Indian students need to have a Class 12 board certificate with a first division. Students without class 12 standard math who wish to pursue a bachelor of science or bachelor of commerce will be required to enroll in MHF4U Math for biological sciences or commerce and MCV4U math for physical science degrees at ilc.org and obtain a minimum of 75 to 80 per cent, depending on the degree or major.
