Jamia Millia Islamia Secures 100% Internship Placement for MSc Banking and Financial Analytics Students

The Department of Economics at Jamia Millia Islamia has achieved a 100% internship placement rate for its fourth batch of MSc Banking and Financial Analytics (BFA) students. All students from the 4th semester (2022-2024) of the MSc BFA course secured internships in nationalized banks, notably Indian Bank, and various corporate entities such as Genpact, CRISIL Ltd, GFK, Acxiom Consulting, and RevFin, as mentioned in the release.

About the Course:

The course is designed to provide an immersive industry experience, with all four semesters dedicated to industry internships and capstone projects. This approach allows students to refine the skills they have learned in the classroom and prepare themselves for the industry. The MSc BFA is a two-year master's program that has been offered by the department since 2019. The curriculum of the program is closely aligned with the evolving needs of the analytics industry. The course aims to provide students with comprehensive skills for the analytics industry. In addition to learning applied finance and advanced statistics, students are trained in using software like R, Python, Stata, SQL, and PowerBI for data management, visualization, and quantitative modeling. Students also receive training in modern data science tools such as machine learning and AI.

In other news, the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), Centre for Coaching and Career Planning, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is inviting online applications for free coaching (with hostel facilities) for the preparation of the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary-cum-Main) examination 2024. According to the revised schedule, candidates now have until June 19 to submit the online application form for the free UPSC coaching offered by Jamia.
