Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon launches free NEET and JEE coaching for 11th and 12th students

The Rajnandgaon district administration in Chhattisgarh has launched a program offering free coaching for NEET and JEE to students in 11th and 12th grade, aiming to support young learners preparing for competitive exams.

Rajnandgaon Collector Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said, "Free coaching for NEET and JEE preparation has started for children in the city to ensure they have access to all facilities. Ten clusters will be formed in the city to train 600 students, specifically those in classes 11th and 12th."

He added that the initiative is designed to give students strong academic exposure. "These classes will be organized both online and offline, where teachers are available," Bhure added.

Students participating in the program praised the initiative. "I chose biology as a subject in 11th class. I am preparing for NEET this year. We are preparing well for this exam, as well as for other competitive exams, and the preparation for the 12th class exam is also being carried out effectively,” said Iksha Devangan.

Another student, Saksham Devangan, said, "We attended a free coaching session. Physics, chemistry, math, and even Hindi and English are being taught to us here, allowing us to prepare not only for NEET and JEE but also for other competitive exams. It is a good initiative because it is completely free."

He noted that the classes are held only on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring regular school studies are not affected.

NEET, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is the uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) for admission to undergraduate medical education in India.

It also applies to courses under the Indian System of Medicine, including BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS, and is conducted in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET scores are also used for shortlisting candidates for the four-year BSc Nursing course.

JEE, another national-level exam, serves as the gateway to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses.

It consists of two stages: JEE Main, conducted by NTA, for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions, and JEE Advanced, for qualifying students seeking admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
