Argentina has eased entry rules for Indian nationals by allowing those with valid US tourist visas to visit without a separate Argentine visa, a move aimed at boosting tourism and strengthening bilateral ties.
Argentina has announced that Indian nationals holding valid US tourist visas can now enter the country without requiring a separate Argentine visa. This policy change aims to simplify travel procedures and make it easier for Indian tourists to visit Argentina.
Ambassador Mariano Caucino confirmed the development on Aug 27, in New Delhi. He said, “This is wonderful news for both Argentina and India. We’re ready to welcome more Indian tourists into our wonderful country.” The new regulations have been published in Argentina’s Official Gazette, formalizing the process and eliminating a significant barrier for Indian travelers visiting Argentina for leisure.
This change aligns with Argentina’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with India. In July 2025, the two countries held the second Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on Agriculture in New Delhi.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the agricultural sector and demonstrates ongoing collaboration between the two nations.
With the visa relaxation, Indian travelers holding a valid US visa will now be able to plan trips to Argentina without the additional step of applying for an Argentine visa. This is expected to make travel more convenient and encourage tourism from India.
Ambassador Caucino highlighted that Argentina is prepared to welcome Indian tourists under this new policy, signaling a positive step toward fostering closer ties between the two countries.
The relaxation of visa requirements is part of Argentina’s broader efforts to strengthen economic and cultural connections with India.
The policy is intended solely for Indian nationals holding valid US tourist visas. No other categories of travelers or visas are mentioned in the announcement, and Indian citizens without a valid US visa must continue to follow the standard visa application process for Argentina.
The announcement has been widely welcomed by both governments, as it demonstrates a commitment to promoting tourism and international cooperation. By facilitating easier access to Argentina for Indian travelers, both countries aim to deepen cultural and economic ties, while ensuring compliance with the new entry requirements.
Indian nationals planning to travel to Argentina are advised to ensure their US tourist visa is valid at the time of entry. The official guidelines published in Argentina’s Official Gazette provide the authoritative reference for eligibility and entry procedures under this policy change.
