The October 25 examination has been deferred after the commission earlier shifted the test from July, leaving candidates waiting for a revised schedule.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the 72nd Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination, which was scheduled for October 25, 2026. The commission has not announced a fresh date yet.
The latest decision is the second postponement of the examination, extending the wait for thousands of candidates preparing for one of Bihar’s key recruitment examinations.

Exam shifted twice
The 72nd BPSC Preliminary Examination was initially scheduled for July 25, 2026. The commission later deferred the test, citing “unavoidable reasons”, and said the revised date would be announced separately.
The examination was subsequently scheduled for October 25. That date has now also been deferred.
The repeated changes have left candidates without a confirmed examination schedule as they continue their preparation.
Fresh BPSC exam date awaited
BPSC has not yet specified when the 72nd Preliminary Examination will be conducted. Candidates will have to wait for the commission’s next official notification for details of the revised date and any related instructions.
The BPSC examination calendar had listed October 25 as the tentative date for the Integrated 72nd Combined Competitive Examination.
Candidates are advised to rely on the official BPSC website and commission notifications for the next schedule rather than unverified updates circulating online.
The focus now shifts to the commission’s next announcement, which is expected to clarify when the long-awaited 72nd BPSC Preliminary Examination will finally be held.
