Adobe and CENTA join hands to strengthen teachers’ digital, design thinking and AI skills

Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA) has partnered with Adobe to help teachers develop project-based and experiential learning activities using Adobe Express for Education.

The collaboration will focus on strengthening teachers’ skills in creative problem-solving, design thinking and AI-assisted content creation while giving students opportunities to work on projects linked to real-world problems.

The partnership includes the Adobe-CENTA Design Course and Challenge, a free, year-long professional development program designed to help educators use digital tools and project-based approaches across subjects such as science, mathematics, languages and social sciences.

Teachers participating in the program will receive access to a modular course integrated with Adobe Express for Education. The program will combine self-paced learning with live online support, webinars and other learning formats.

The flexible structure will allow teachers to select specific skills and course components based on their requirements and level of interest.

As part of the program, teachers can participate in a national Design Challenge focused on developing effective project-based learning experiences. Participants can either enter the competitive track or continue through the non-competitive option.

Teachers and students participating in the challenge will have opportunities to receive cash prizes, recognition through CENTA's global showcase events and digital badges for completing the course and participating in the Design Challenge.

Students from participating schools will also be able to develop projects using design thinking and technology tools. Their Design Challenge will focus on addressing real-world problems, with the aim of encouraging students to apply classroom knowledge through practical projects.

The initiative is aligned with the emphasis of the National Education Policy (NEP) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on project-based learning, design thinking and practical application of knowledge.

According to CENTA, the partnership is intended to strengthen competencies needed for a future-ready learning environment while giving educators greater flexibility to incorporate these approaches into classroom teaching.

Ramya Venkataraman, Founder and CEO of CENTA, said the initiative would focus on giving both teachers and students greater opportunities to apply knowledge and create solutions.

“High-quality learning increasingly requires teachers and students to have opportunities to apply knowledge, solve problems and create. This is what we want to achieve through the Adobe-CENTA partnership. Together, we hope to give teachers practical tools and approaches for project-based learning, while enabling students to learn through meaningful, real-world application,” Venkataraman said.

Teachers interested in the program can enroll for free through the CENTA website at https://centa.org/centa-adobe or access the program through the CENTA app.
