CRPF Recruitment 2026: 521 Sports Quota vacancies announced, check details

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has opened recruitment for sportspersons under its Sports Quota, with 521 vacancies available for Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) posts.

The recruitment is open to eligible male and female athletes who meet the educational, age and sports achievement requirements specified by the force. Applications will be accepted online through the official CRPF recruitment portal, rect.crpf.gov.in, from Oct 12 to Nov 11, 2026.

Candidates will have an opportunity to make corrections to their applications from Nov 12 to Nov 14, 2026. Applicants are advised to review the detailed recruitment notification and confirm their eligibility before submitting their forms.

Vacancy details

The recruitment drive will fill a total of 521 posts across the Head Constable (GD) and Constable (GD) categories. Eligible sportspersons can apply for the posts according to the educational qualifications, age criteria and sports achievements prescribed by CRPF.

Selection process

Applicants will have to go through multiple stages of selection. The recruitment process will include identity and document verification, a Physical Standard Test (PST), sports trial and medical examination.

Candidates will need to meet the prescribed physical standards and demonstrate their eligibility in the sports trial. Their documents and identity will also be verified during the recruitment process.

Educational qualification

The minimum educational qualification varies according to the post.

For eligible ex-Army personnel applying for the Head Constable (GD) post, equivalent Army qualifications will also be considered, according to the recruitment criteria.

Age limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 23 years old as of Aug 1, 2026.

Applicants should not have been born before Jan 2, 2003, or after Jan 1, 2008.

In addition to the age requirement, candidates must meet the sports eligibility criteria specified by CRPF. Eligible sportspersons should have participated in or won medals at the competitions prescribed in the recruitment notification during the period from Sept 30, 2024, to Sept 30, 2026.

Application fee

Male candidates from the UR, OBC and EWS categories applying for either Head Constable (GD) or Constable (GD) posts will have to pay an application fee of ₹100.

Female candidates and applicants belonging to the SC, ST and Ex-servicemen categories are exempt from paying the application fee.
