Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has expressed his excitement about directing veteran actress Waheeda Rehman in his upcoming untitled project, which explores a lesser-known 21-day chapter from Mahatma Gandhi’s life. Waheeda Rehman will portray Putlibai, Gandhi’s mother, while National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee will play the role of Gandhi. Mishra said directing the legendary actress is an honour, recalling the impact of her iconic films including Pyaasa, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Kaagaz Ke Phool and Guide. Produced by Anubhav Sinha and Narendra Hirawat, the drama also features Saurabh Shukla in a significant role.
