A 20-year-old Indian student working as a security guard in Canada was shot dead in an Edmonton apartment, marking the second murder of an Indian student in a week.
Harshandeep Singh, who hailed from Punjab was found dead after a shootout at around 12.30 am on Dec 6.

The police have arrested two suspects, Evan Rain and Judith, and charged them with first-degree murder, officials said.
The police said it reached the 107th Avenue area after reports of gunshots at an apartment building and Singh was found unresponsive. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
"On Friday, December 6, at approximately 12.30 am, patrol officers responded to a report of a gunshot inside an apartment building in the area of 106 Street and 107 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 20-year-old male security guard Harshandeep Singh in a stairwell and immediately conducted first aid. EMS (Emergency Medical Services) responded, treated and transported him to hospital where he was declared deceased (sic)," Edmonton police said.
Investigators said a weapon was recovered during the arrest and that they do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident.

However, the police have not confirmed the authenticity of the video.
The police have not yet determined the motive behind the murder, and the victim's autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The 36-year-old accused Crossley Hunter has been charged with second-degree murder.
According to the Sarnia Police Service, they received a call about a stabbing incident on the wee hours of Dec 1. The investigation revealed that the accused stabbed the victim multiple times during an argument.
