On the day of his bail hearing in a Delhi court, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia reached out to his supporters with a letter of gratitude, particularly to the residents of his constituency, Patparganj, for their support during his wife's illness.

The letter, which is Sisodia's second letter from Tihar Jail and written in Hindi, emerged on Friday. In that letter, he reflects on his incarceration, likening it to the detentions faced by Indian freedom fighters under British rule.

"Expect to reunite soon. The crusade for educational reform continues, and my love for you all endures. This past year has been a testament to our collective dedication and integrity. Just as our forebears united for independence, we unite for the cause of quality education and schools. The dream of freedom was realized despite colonial oppression, and I believe firmly that the vision of providing excellent education to every child will also be fulfilled," expressed Sisodia in his letter dated March 15.

Drawing a comparison between the current central government and the colonial era, Sisodia finds motivation in iconic figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

"The colonial rulers took pride in their might, often incarcerating individuals on unfounded allegations. They detained Gandhi for extensive periods, and Mandela too faced imprisonment. These leaders inspire me, and your support gives me strength," he penned.

Sisodia emphasized the significance of quality education and institutions for the nation's progress.

"A developed nation is built on the foundation of superior education and schools. It brings me joy to witness the educational transformation that has occurred in Delhi under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership. The recent developments in Punjab's educational sector are also heartening," he remarked.

Expressing his deep appreciation, Sisodia conveyed how the community's care for his wife has touched him.

"My affection for you has only grown during my time here. You have shown remarkable care for my wife, Seema, who speaks of you with great emotion. Please continue to look after one another," he shared.

Sisodia is currently under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation concerning his alleged role in the defunct Delhi liquor policy case.

The ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi was taken into custody by the CBI on February 26 of the previous year and is slated for a bail hearing the following day.
