The selection process will include preliminary and main examinations followed by psychometric assessment, group exercises, and interviews for candidates shortlisted in subsequent stages.

The State Bank of India (SBI) has started accepting applications for 1,500 Probationary Officer (PO) posts. Eligible candidates can apply online through the bank's official website until July 7, 2026.
The recruitment drive includes 1,446 regular vacancies and 54 backlog vacancies across various categories.

Of the 1,446 regular vacancies, 588 are reserved for the Unreserved category, 144 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 390 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 216 for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 108 for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
The backlog vacancies include 18 positions for SC candidates and 36 for ST candidates.
Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of April 1, 2026, to be eligible. Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
Final-year or final-semester students may also apply, provided they submit proof of passing their qualifying examination on or before September 30, 2026, if called for an interview.
SBI has also provided a 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
