CBSE opens applications for Class 10 scanned answer books, re-evaluation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the first phase of the post-result process for Class 10 Main and Second Board Examinations 2026, allowing students to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books through the official website, cbse.gov.in.

According to a notification issued by the board on Aug 5, the post-result process will be carried out in three stages.

Students who appeared in either the Main Board Examination or the Second Board Examination can apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets from Aug 5 to Aug 9 by paying ₹300 per subject.

After receiving and reviewing the scanned copies, students who wish to challenge the evaluation can apply online for verification of marks or re-evaluation between Aug 16 and Aug 19.

CBSE has made it mandatory for students to first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer book before submitting requests for verification or re-evaluation.

The board has also specified the procedure for students who appeared in both the Main and Second Board Examinations.

Such candidates may obtain scanned copies of answer books from both examinations but can seek verification of marks or re-evaluation for only one of the two answer books. Verification of the complete answer sheet of a subject will require a fee of ₹300.

CBSE clarified that the verification process is limited to checking whether all answers have been evaluated, whether marks have been totaled correctly, and whether the awarded marks have been accurately recorded. The process does not include reassessment of the answers.

Students opting for re-evaluation will be required to pay ₹100 per question.

The schedule for the post-result activities is as follows:

Post-Result ActivityApplication Dates
Scanned copy of evaluated answer bookAug 5 to Aug 9, 2026
Verification of marksAug 16 to Aug 19, 2026
Re-evaluation ProcessAug 16 to Aug 19, 2026

The board has advised students to complete the online application process within the prescribed deadlines, stating that requests submitted after the closing dates will not be accepted.

It also said that the fees paid for scanned copies, verification of marks, and re-evaluation are non-refundable.

CBSE had announced the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026 results on July 18, while the Main Board Examination results were declared earlier on April 15.
