RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar emphasized that early education should be in the language spoken locally, reaffirming the Sangh’s view that all Indian languages are national.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on July 7 said that primary education should be delivered in the language spoken by people in their respective regions.
Following the withdrawal of the Three-Language Policy by Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said, “Sangh has always had the stand that all languages of India are national languages. People speak their languages in their own places. Primary education should be disseminated in the same language; this is what everyone has been requesting. This is already established.”
The comment comes as the language debate gains traction after the implementation of the Three-Language Policy under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The policy mandates that students learn three languages during their school years and promotes multilingualism.
It allows states and institutions flexibility in choosing which languages to include, with a requirement that at least two of the three languages be Indian.
