IIRF MBA Ranking 2025: S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai has claimed the top spot, with XLRI-Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur slipping to second and Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (MDI) holding the third position. In 2024, however, XLRI led the rankings, followed by MDI and SPJIMR.
The IIRF B Schools Ranking 2025 has made a significant impact on MBA aspirants across India, revealing some noteworthy changes in the rankings of the country’s top private B-schools.
The top spot in this year's rankings has been claimed by SPJIMR. Previously ranked third in 2024, SPJIMR's impressive rise to the top highlights its growing influence and stature in the management education sector.
SPJIMR is an AICTE-approved institution accredited by AMBA (UK), NBA, and AACSB International.
Known for its rigorous academic environment and strong industry ties, SPJIMR offers a variety of programs including PGDM, PGDM BM, PGPM, GMP, Executive PGDM, Online PGDM, and Doctoral programs.
The institute has consistently achieved excellent placement outcomes, with domestic packages reaching ₹89 LPA and international packages touching ₹81 LPA for the 2025 PGDM placements.

XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, holds the second position in the IIRF B Schools Ranking 2025, slipping from its number one ranking in 2024.
XLRI continues to be a prestigious private institution recognized by AICTE, AIU, and the Government of India, and is accredited by AACSB, AMBA, and NBA.
The institute is particularly renowned for its Human Resource Management program and has maintained a 100% placement rate for the 2024 batch.
The highest and average salary packages for the PGDM (BM) and PGDM (HRM) courses were ₹75 LPA and ₹29.89 LPA, respectively.
For the PGDM (GM) course, the highest and average packages were ₹80.35 LPA and ₹29.4 LPA. The placement drive saw more than 150 recruiters offering positions to over 500 students.
XLRI’s admissions are based on XAT, GMAT, or GRE scores, followed by personal interviews and/or group discussions.
In third place is MDI - Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, which has slipped one position from 2024 in IIRF private B schools ranking 2025.
MDI offers PGDM, Executive PG programs, Fellowship programs, and Management Development Programs (MDPs) in four specializations.
The institute’s placement record remains strong, with a highest package of ₹63.3 LPA and more than 550 students successfully placed in the 2024 cycle.
The campus houses two prominent schools: the School of Public Policy and Governance and the School of Management of Financial Institutions, further contributing to its reputation as one of the top MBA colleges in India.
