IIRF University Ranking 2025: Breaking no new ground in the top tier but reaffirming its undisputed leadership, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has once again secured Rank 1 in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2025 under the deemed university good for B.Tech/M.Tech programs category.
The institute, long celebrated for its cutting-edge research and high-impact academics, continues to set the benchmark for technical education in India.
Closely following are ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, at Rank 2 and Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai, at Rank 3, making up the unchanged top trio from the IIRF 2024 list.
These institutions have cemented their place among the top 10 deemed universities in India, particularly for engineering and postgraduate tech programs.
Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
Founded in 1909, IISc Bengaluru is affiliated with AIU and ACU and is NAAC-accredited with an A++ grade by UGC.

Established in 1957, it offers a specialized technical curriculum in MTech, MSc, PhD, and diploma courses across disciplines like chemical, civil, computer science, metallurgy, and safety engineering.
The institute is also expanding access through online programs, especially in physical sciences, and remains a key player among top deemed universities in India focused on technical education.
