Eligible students can apply online until May 25 through the official board website, with the initiative aimed at helping them complete schooling and improve future academic and career prospects.

The Punjab School Education Board has begun the online registration process for a “Special Mercy Chance,” allowing students who have not cleared their Class 10 or Class 12 exams over the past 16 years to reappear.
Applications can be submitted on the official website until May 25, 2026.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the initiative has been dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
The scheme is intended to give another opportunity to candidates who failed their board exams between 2010 and 2025, helping them complete their schooling and improve future prospects.
Explaining the eligibility criteria, the minister said the provision covers students who appeared in Class 10 or Class 12 exams between March 2010 and March 2025 and have exhausted all reappear or compartment attempts, or those seeking to improve their scores.
It also includes candidates who appeared between March 2010 and March 2026 and were declared failed, provided they have passed at least one main subject. Students from the Open School stream for both Class 10 and Class 12 are also eligible.
Candidates can access the application form and detailed instructions on the PSEB website, www.pseb.ac.in.
Describing the move as a major opportunity, Bains said it will enable students to complete pending education and move ahead with better career options, adding that the government aims to provide renewed hope to thousands of learners.
