The initiative follows a year of planning and aims to equip students with emerging technology skills while incorporating their feedback into future education policy reforms.

Punjab will introduce an Artificial Intelligence (AI) curriculum in all government schools beginning next month, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced on July 2 during the 'Bright Minds Punjab 2026' program in Ludhiana.
Bains said the state government had spent the past year preparing the AI initiative and was now ready to roll it out across government schools.

The event at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan was attended by former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Education Secretary Sonali Giri, teachers, and students.
During the program, the state honored Class 12 students who scored more than 95% in the board examinations.
Addressing the students, Bains said they represented the future of Punjab and the country, expressing confidence that many would go on to become civil servants, doctors, lawyers, and other professionals.
The minister also said the event marked the first time that the education minister and the education secretary had directly interacted with students to gather feedback on the examination system, curriculum, and teaching methods.
He said the suggestions would be taken into account while shaping future education policies.
Bains further said Punjab had achieved the top position in the country's Education Index, attributing the achievement to the combined efforts of teachers, students, and the state government.
Speaking at the event, Sisodia emphasized the importance of strengthening the education system to support national progress.
He said the development of any country depends on the quality of its education system and stressed that ensuring quality education for every child should remain a government priority.
Sisodia also highlighted the need to equip students with modern technological skills in the era of artificial intelligence.
