The Punjab School Examination Board (PSEB) on Thursday declared the class 10 result with Aditi of Ludhiana grabbing the first spot scoring 100%.

Navjot Kaur got the second spot by securing 648 out of 650 marks (99.69 per cent) and Harmandeep Kaur achieved the third position by securing 646 marks out of 650 (99.38 per cent).
Around 3 lakh candidates appeared for the PSEB 10th examination this year across the state. The board examination was conducted from February 13 to March 5, 2024.
In 2023, a total of 2,81,327 students appeared for Punjab Board class 10 exams, of which 2,74,378 passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 97.54 per cent per cent.
Last year, girls outshone boys by bagging the first three positions in the state. Gagandeep Kaur, a student of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhia, Faridkot topped in the state by securing 100 per cent marks (650/650).
In 2023, boys secured 96.73 per cent pass percentage while the overall pass percentage was two per cent lower than 2022. As many as 653 students had failed to clear the examination and 6,171 had to re-appear.
However, the pass percentage had improved from the pre-pandemic years as the pass percentage was 85.56 per cent in 2019.
Interestingly, all districts in the state last year had recorded pass percentage of 95 per cent or above, with Barnala scoring the lowest at 95.96 per cent, reported The Indian Express.
