Under the initiative, selected master trainers will first receive specialized training and will subsequently train teachers across Maharashtra, with the goal of reaching every school in the state.

“The entire training program will be provided free of cost by Google and there will be no financial burden on the state government. The Maharashtra government will retain control over the entire process, while ensuring digital safety for teachers,” the minister said.

Minister of State for School Education Pankaj Bhoyar said the department wanted teachers in government-run and aided schools to receive training from a globally recognized institution.

According to the release, the program will focus on improving AI literacy and digital skills among teachers. Training content will be offered in Marathi, Hindi, and English to support wider participation.

The initiative will also promote the use of Google's AI tools for educational purposes and contribute to teachers' professional development through technology-enabled learning.

Officials said the collaboration is expected to strengthen digital readiness among educators and support the integration of emerging technologies into classroom teaching across the state.
