Heavy security deployed as CJP stages second protest at Jantar Mantar ahead of NEET re-test

Heavy security arrangements have been put in place at Jantar Mantar ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) second protest in the national capital scheduled for June 20.

Delhi Police personnel have been deployed in and around the protest venue, with additional surveillance and crowd-management measures put in place to maintain law and order during the demonstration.

The security arrangements come amid expectations of a significant turnout of students and young people from different parts of the country.

The protest has been called by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who has urged supporters to gather at Jantar Mantar and participate peacefully. Ahead of the demonstration, Dipke appealed to supporters to bring steel plates and spoons as a symbolic form of protest.

According to organisers, the protest will focus on concerns related to examination irregularities, transparency in recruitment and entrance examinations, and accountability in the handling of recent exam-related controversies. The group has also reiterated its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

This will be the second major demonstration organised by the youth-led movement in Delhi. The group's first protest at Jantar Mantar earlier this month drew participation from students and job aspirants who voiced concerns over examination management and opportunities for young people.

The Cockroach Janta Party has gained attention in recent weeks through its social media campaigns and public demonstrations. The movement has positioned itself as a platform highlighting issues related to education, examinations, unemployment and governance.

The planned protest comes a day before the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The re-test is being conducted under enhanced security arrangements after the cancellation of the earlier examination following concerns over its integrity.

Authorities are expected to closely monitor June 20 gathering, while organisers have maintained that the protest will remain peaceful and focused on raising issues affecting students and job aspirants across the country.
