The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of JEE Main 2026 Session 2, with 26 candidates securing a perfect 100 percentile score in the highly competitive engineering entrance exam.
The number of candidates achieving a perfect score has increased compared to last year, reflecting intense competition at the top end of the merit list.

Alongside the top scorers, a total of 2,50,182 candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced, the next stage of the selection process for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The results were released on the official website, allowing candidates to download their scorecards using their login credentials. The JEE Main exam is conducted in multiple sessions, and the final ranking is based on the best score achieved by candidates across attempts.
JEE Main uses a normalisation process to calculate percentile scores, ensuring fairness across different exam shifts with varying difficulty levels. The percentile reflects a candidate’s relative performance compared to others in the same session rather than raw marks.
Reports indicate that among the 26 perfect scorers, candidates come from different categories, highlighting a diverse representation at the top level.
The exam saw participation from lakhs of aspirants across the country, continuing its status as one of India’s most competitive entrance tests for engineering programmes.
With the results now declared, qualified candidates will move on to JEE Advanced, which serves as the gateway to IIT admissions.
