An Indian trade delegation is set to travel to the United States this week to hold discussions on a proposed bilateral trade agreement, according to the US envoy to India.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said the visit marks an important step towards finalising the deal, describing it as a “win-win for both nations.”

The delegation is expected to arrive in Washington for a new round of talks focused on advancing negotiations that have seen renewed momentum in recent months. The discussions are part of efforts by both countries to strengthen economic ties and resolve outstanding trade issues.
Officials familiar with the process have indicated that the talks will cover multiple areas, including tariffs, market access and regulatory concerns that have previously delayed progress on the agreement.
This round of engagement is significant as it marks one of the key in-person negotiations between the two sides after earlier rounds of dialogue and virtual discussions. Both countries are aiming to move closer to finalising at least the first phase of a broader trade pact.
India and the United States have been working towards a comprehensive trade agreement aimed at boosting bilateral trade and investment.
The proposed deal is expected to address long-standing trade frictions while creating new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
The upcoming talks signal continued engagement between New Delhi and Washington at a time when global trade dynamics are shifting, with both sides seeking to strengthen economic cooperation and supply chain resilience.
