The initiative seeks to make artificial intelligence education more accessible by offering beginner-friendly courses with practical training, real-world case studies, and optional certification.

IIT Madras has expanded its artificial intelligence education initiative by launching six AI courses in Hindi, making the programs accessible to a wider audience through the Ministry of Education's SWAYAM Plus platform.
The courses will be available free of cost under the institute's 'AI for All' initiative in collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation.

The institute said the introduction of Hindi-language courses is intended to reduce language barriers and enable more learners across India to gain AI skills.
The six newly introduced courses are AI for Educators, AI in Physics, AI in Chemistry, AI in Accounting, Cricket Analytics with AI, and AI/ML using Python.
According to IIT Madras, the courses combine practical exercises with real-world case studies and do not require prior knowledge of artificial intelligence or programming.
Each course ranges from 25 to 45 hours in duration and can be accessed free of charge. Learners seeking certification can take a proctored examination by paying a nominal fee.
The Hindi courses are part of the 'AI for All' initiative that IIT Madras and IIT Madras Pravartak launched in May 2025.
The program was initially introduced to help teachers from Kindergarten through Class 12 across India understand and use artificial intelligence in education.
The institute decided to introduce the courses in Hindi after the initiative saw strong participation from learners, making the content more accessible to a broader section of the population.
According to IIT Madras, the first batch of the program recorded nearly 4.2 lakh registrations, while the second batch received around 50,000 registrations.
The courses are hosted on SWAYAM Plus, the online learning platform supported by the Ministry of Education and managed by IIT Madras.
SWAYAM Plus currently offers more than 430 online courses spanning over 15 sectors, including engineering, information technology, banking, financial services, hospitality, and manufacturing. Several of these courses are credit-aligned and have been reviewed by IIT Madras faculty.
The platform has registered more than 3.7 lakh learners so far, according to the institute.
