The 12-month online programs, open to working professionals, faculty, and senior-year students, offer hands-on learning with IIT Bombay faculty and proctored on-campus exams starting September 2025.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has introduced two new professional certificate programs in cybersecurity and software development, aimed at addressing the growing demand for skilled tech professionals in India.
Designed as 12-month, fully online programs, these courses include proctored exams held on campus.
They are open to working professionals, college faculty, and students currently in their third or fourth year of engineering or computer science-related studies.
"We are bridging the critical skill gap our country faces through rigorous, accessible, and highly hands-on learning," said Kameswari Chebrolu, Lead Faculty for the programs.
Participants will complete three structured courses taught by IIT Bombay faculty, with a focus on practical and industry-relevant skills.
According to the institute, India's cybersecurity market is projected to exceed USD 10 billion by 2025, while software development continues to drive innovation across industries.
These certificate programs aim to prepare learners for careers such as full-stack developer, security analyst, security architect, DevSecOps engineer, and other in-demand roles.
Applications for both programs are now open, and classes are scheduled to begin by Sept 1.
