IIM Ahmedabad shifts Dubai campus students to India amid West Asia conflict

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has relocated all 35 students from its Dubai campus to the main campus in Ahmedabad due to the ongoing West Asia conflict, according to institute sources.

The students, enrolled in a one-year MBA program launched in September last year, were in Spain for an internship when tensions in the region escalated.

“Due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, the institute authorities decided to move the students directly to the institute’s Ahmedabad campus rather than take them back to Dubai,” a source said.

The step was taken to ensure that academic schedules continue without disruption. The students will now attend in-person classes at the Ahmedabad campus until the situation stabilizes.

The Dubai campus, IIMA’s first overseas center, was inaugurated in September 2025 in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The campus was established as part of the institute’s global expansion strategy to offer management education in the Middle East and promote academic collaboration and cross-cultural learning.
