Final exams are set for May 2 to 12, Intermediate groups rescheduled across May, with the institute urging structured study, mock practice, revisions, and focus on well-being and updated syllabus.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has released preparation guidelines for candidates appearing in the May 2026 CA examinations, outlining a structured study approach while highlighting the changing role of the profession.
According to ICAI, Chartered Accountants today are moving beyond traditional accounting and auditing functions, with increasing involvement in decision-making, governance, compliance, and financial strategy.

The institute noted that the field is expanding into areas such as forensic accounting, risk management, insolvency, valuation, international taxation, and fintech, where analytical ability and professional judgment are becoming more important with rising automation.
The May 2026 exam cycle will be conducted throughout the month. Final examinations will continue as scheduled from May 2 to May 12, while the Intermediate exam dates have been revised.
Group I will now be held on May 5, 7, and 9, and Group II on May 11, 13, and 15, with no changes in exam timings.
ICAI has advised students to follow a disciplined and concept-focused preparation strategy instead of last-minute study.
It has recommended building conceptual clarity over rote learning, using official study material, practicing mock tests and past papers, and planning multiple revisions.
Candidates have also been asked to manage time effectively, improve answer writing, stay updated with syllabus changes, and use ICAI learning resources such as classes and webinars.
The institute emphasized consistency, self-assessment, and maintaining physical and mental well-being as key factors for success.
