The proposed institutions are expected to promote holistic learning, upgrade academic and infrastructure standards in government schools, and function as resource and mentoring hubs for nearby campuses across the state.

Haryana is preparing to roll out a new network of ‘CM Shri Schools’ modeled on the center's PM SHRI Schools, with the institutions set to adopt the CBSE curriculum, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said on Feb 25.
The announcement was made during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Assembly in response to a question raised by a member.

The proposed schools will mirror the framework of the PM SHRI scheme, which was launched in September 2022 as a centrally sponsored initiative to upgrade select schools into model institutions aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
Under the central program, schools are designed to deliver quality education, promote holistic development, and equip students with 21st-century skills while also mentoring neighboring institutions.
Dhanda also informed the House that the Education Department has reserved 25% of seats at the entry level in private schools for students from Economically Weaker Sections and Disadvantaged Groups.
Sharing data from the previous academic year, the minister said 14,127 applications were submitted for admission to private schools under the Right to Education Act. Of these, 11,803 students were allotted seats.
He added that eligibility under the RTE quota requires an annual family income of less than ₹1.80 lakh.
The state government’s plan to introduce CM Shri Schools is aimed at strengthening public education infrastructure while aligning with national reform priorities under NEP 2020.
