The state government is expanding higher education in the Palwal district, with colleges set up near Janauli to boost access for boys and girls, reflecting a strong focus on inclusive learning.
Haryana has been working on a plan to make higher education accessible within short distances, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini told the state Assembly during the monsoon session.
Responding to a question from MLA Raghubir Tewatia, Saini said the state policy aims to set up a government college within every 20-kilometer radius.
He added that seven such colleges are already functional around Village Janauli in the Palwal district.
Expressing thanks to former Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Saini said, "With a visionary approach focused on girls' education, a roadmap was prepared to establish government colleges within every 20-kilometer radius. Today, students across the state are reaping the significant benefits of this farsighted initiative."
According to him, Government College in Palwal, located 6 km from Janauli, currently has 560 boys and 733 girls enrolled, with a total intake capacity of 1,293.
Similarly, Government Girls College in Mandkola, about 15 km away, has 339 girls pursuing higher studies.
The CM also mentioned that the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) has been operational in Janauli under the Prithla Assembly Constituency since 2015.
